Roadside fruit stands

Who can resist this!
These little stands seem to pop up every where in the summer time
This one happens to belong to my neighbor Christine.
She sets it up every day with all of the wonderful ripe fruit she grows in her orchard.
100% organic and the sweetest I've tasted....she actually can thank her horse "Dot" for that, but that's another story
Depending on the month and what is really ripe; she sells lemons, tangelos and oranges, red grapefruit, figs,  plums and apricots
Her stand is alway decorated with little tea towels,
tablecloths and baskets.... and a flower or two.
She even supplies little bags for you to take your fruit home in
It's an honor system stand and she actually makes a bit of money.
How nice is it that people are still really honest these days.
Most people that pass this stand are either on a walk or riding a bike or a horse!
It's a great place to stop and chat or just enjoy the sunshine.
On a little country road, pretty much in the middle of nowhere
Christine told me she makes enough from the stand to pay for two children to attend church camp.
She gives the money to a local charity/outreach program for at risk youth and they pick a child that might otherwise get into a bit of trouble during the long summer.
Christine does this every day and I am so happy to have her as a friend.
They next time you see a little stand like this...stop and grab an orange or two
Only 5 for a dollar!
And you never know, you might help to send a kid to camp too!
